The Education Minister of Punjab has finalized the dates for summer vacations in schools and colleges, given the increasing heatwave across the region. The summer break is expected to last for over two months, similar to last year’s schedule.
According to the announcement, summer vacations will start on June 7, 2024, and end on August 19, 2024. The Education Department is set to issue an official notification confirming these dates in the coming weeks.
The announcement comes as temperatures continue to rise, with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) warning that June could see temperatures reaching 49.5 degrees Celsius. Similarly, August might experience peak temperatures of 48.63 degrees Celsius.
These summer vacations will provide a much-needed break for students, teachers, and staff, helping them escape the intense heat and spend quality time with their families. As educational institutes prepare for the summer holidays, it’s also a time for students to unwind and recharge before the start of the new academic year.
